Agnes McMeans began her postal career in 1977 at the North Suburban Facility in River Grove, Illinois. After 10 years as a union steward she ran for the position of A.V.P. of the North Suburban Facility. The Facility split into Carol Stream P&DC and Palatine P&DC in 1992 she was Administrative Vice President of Palatine and Carol Stream for a short period of time until she was appointed Branch President over Carol Stream P&DC. She has been AVP/Branch President since 1990. She is a co-chair of QWL at the facility and is trained in arbitration, OWCP, FMLA and other advance training programs. She heads the social and safety committee's at the Carol Stream facility and holds a BS degree from Roosevelt University and an AA from Malcolm X College. She was a delegate to the LIUNA Convention Las Vegas, 2000 and a delegate to the NPMHU Convention, 1996, New Orleans, LA.
